Girdhari Whabi

Girdhari is the CEO of Prime Group Associates a business consultancy and market research company with expertise in oil & gas, utilities, telecommunications, defense & security, health, safety & environment and e-commerce sectors.

Earlier he served as managing director of Technical Parts Group Company, and industrial engineering, trading & services conglomerate, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. He has previously worked with Unilever.

Girdhari received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India.

Fesal Shabeer Thorabally

Fesal has been in the global business cluster of the Mauritius financial services sector for close to 15+ years. He started his journey back in 2008 as a Junior Executive within one of the leading management companies, International Financial Services Limited (“IFS”). He has also been part of the founding members of the Private Equity unit of IFS known as CEFU. During his tenure at IFS, Fesal has had the chance to develop in-depth knowledge of the financial services sector and has been exposed to the main areas of the industry including legal, tax, administration, accounting, anti-money laundering and corporate secretarial fields of financial and non-financial services entities. He has also been involved in fund structuring and set-up of funds and global business companies and administration of closed-ended funds. Subsequently after 10 years at IFS, Fesal joined AXIS Fiduciary Ltd (associate of BLC Robert & Associates) a corporate and fiduciary services provider headquartered in Mauritius and with representative office in Seychelles, Kenya and South Africa. He was part of the management team and held the post of Head of Accounting – Funds & Investors Services. At AXIS, Fesal had exposure to partnership structures (LP/LLP), domestic companies, dealt with DFIs, Angel / Institutional investors and family offices.

Fesal also had a brief spell within GFin Corporate Services Limited [currently part of Apex Group Ltd (Mauritius)] as Vice President where a significant part of his responsibilities was to work alongside Business Solution unit to ensure seamless client delivery through technology enabled solutions like: NAVOne, PFS-PAXUS, MS Azure and Caseware.

Lately, Fesal held the post of Director and Head of Fund Operations within Ana Balat Limited, a financial services entity regulated by the Financial Services Commission. The latter was an Investment Manager / Advisor and has representative offices in Hong Kong, UAE, Malta, Europe and New York.

During the course of his career, Fesal has served as non-executive director on the boards of entities including global business companies, LPs, SICAV / PIF / PCC funds.

She had previously worked for KPMG (Manchester) for 6 years, where she specialized in the Banking and Finance sector and Value for Money audits. She has over 30 years’ experience in accountancy, auditing, tax and consultancy. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Manchester.

Abdoos Samade Jhummun

Abdoos Samade Jhummun, Chief Executive Officer of Global Finance Mauritius (GFM), holds a Post Graduate Diploma and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (MCSI) and International Fiscal Association (IFA). Samade has worked with several companies in the past, as Managing Director for Argyll Management Services Limited, and as Financial Reporting Manager – 2nd Vice President at Northern Trust – Guernsey & Ireland amongst others. He is currently a Council Member and Audit Committee Member at the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also acts as Chairperson of both the Sectoral Committee on Capacity Building for Financial Services - Human Resource Development Council and Financial Services Strategy and Development Committee – GFM. Over the course of his career, Samade has acquired a significant experience in a variety of roles in the international financial services sector. Samade is a determined professional, strategic thinker, has good independent judgement and a good understating of the Corporate Governance culture.
